A small parapsychology library situated in 7 George Square Collection The Koestler Parapsychology Library belongs to The Koestler Parapsychology Unit. This small library was originally established with the appointment of Robert Morris to the first Koestler Chair of Parapsychology in 1985. It is now situated within the PPLS Library in the Psychology Building, 7 George Square.The Koestler Parapsychology UnitThe collection covers various aspects of parapsychology research with an emphasis on the investigation of the psi hypothesis, the pseudo-psi hypothesis, anomalous experiences including reported experiences and beliefs in the paranormal, and the history of parapsychology. Access and opening times The library is open to PPLS staff and students from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and to all University of Edinburgh readers on the days when it is staffed. It is staffed:Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9am to 5pm (closed for lunch 1 to 2pm)Thursdays 9am to 12:30pmDifferent staffing times may apply during University vacations.Access to the PPLS Library outside these staffing times is by swipe card and is available only to PPLS staff and students. Ask the librarian for further information. You will also need to have your student or staff card with you to enter the main PPLS sites including 7, George Square. If you forget your card, staff will be on hand during working hours, so call one of the 'phone numbers posted at the entrance of the building.Enquiries or requests for books outside the librarian's staffing times can be made by filling out the simple form below.
