Information about eligibility and the application process HTML The University of Edinburgh is part of a consortium of ten Higher Education institutions which has been awarded funding from the AHRC to support postgraduate studentships and training in the Arts and Humanities in Scotland. Under the Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) scheme, the consortium - comprised of the Universities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh, University of Highlands & Islands, St Andrews, Stirling, Strathclyde, Glasgow School of Art and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland - will consider applications for doctoral studentship awards in the majority of Arts and Humanities subjects. The consortium is organised through the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH).Scottish Graduate School for Arts and HumanitiesEligibilityThe AHRC welcomes PhD researchers from the world (UK, the EU and International). All funded PhD students, whether UK or International will be eligible for a full award – both a stipend to support living costs, and fees at the HEIs’ UK rate.In accordance with UKRI and AHRC policy, permissible positive action is being applied to the 2025 SGSAH DTP Open Studentships. For the 2024 competition last year, SGSAH reserved at least three ring-fenced studentships for applicants from UK Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. We can expect to see the same commitment in 2025.Applicants should apply to the Doctoral Training Partnership rather than the Collaborative scheme.Arts and Humanities Research CouncilApplication processApplicants are encouraged to make contact with the School as soon as possible to register their interest in this funding opportunity as this will allow the School to track the progress of your application.
