On Tuesday, 28th May, McEwan Hall was buzzing with excitement as the People of CAHSS winners were celebrated at a glittering awards ceremony. Image Award winners L-R: Lauren Hall-Lew, Tommy J Curry, Steve Loughnan, Filipa Melo Lopes, Michael Gill The People of CAHSS Awards are a College-Level peer awards scheme which showcase the values and behaviours we stand for as a community, and the people that role model them in all they do. The School of Philosophy, Psychology & Language Sciences received an impressive number of nominations across all categories, highlighting the outstanding achievements of its staff. Well done to all the colleagues who were nominated this year! This year PPLS celebrated a number of worthy winners across four categories: Professor Tommy J Curry is part of the University-wide Decolonised Transformations working group winning a Community Impact Award. This award recognises teams championing CAHSS’ mission to be a force for social good. Professor Lauren Hall-Lew Lauren won as part of the Staff BAME Network also winning a Community Impact Award. Dr Filipa Melo Lopes was honoured with an Advancing Inclusion Award for her exceptional contributions to promoting inclusivity within the College. Her dedication and hard work have set a new standard for inclusion efforts. Professor Michael Gill was celebrated for his outstanding leadership and impact on helping colleagues establish their professional careers, winning the Inspiring Manager Award. Dr Steve Loughnan received the Inspiring Colleague Award, recognising his ability to inspire, cheer, and encourage those around him with his positive influence and supportive nature making a lasting impact on his colleagues. This event was a testament to some of the exceptional talent and dedication within PPLS, and we extend our congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
