Congratulations to Lucas Perry, a first year PhD student, who presented on the ‘Executive Function's Confounding Genetic Confounders’. Image The contest saw seven doctoral researchers compete to a packed audience in delivering the best research presentation in just 3 minutes, using only one slide.Lucas researches the genetics of executive function development, primarily using molecular genetics methods. He is particularly interested is in genetic mediation, the idea that associations commonly seen as environmental could be better explained by genetics.Asked how he felt about winning the School heat, Lucas replied: “Mostly surprised. I didn't expect to get this far.”Lucas will represent the School of PPLS at the College heat, which will take place on Wednesday, 3 May 2023.
